Questions parents ask
What is the difference between Level 2 and Level 3?
Level 3 is the result sixth forms ask for; it corresponds to the old grades 1 to 5. Level 2 (old grades 6 and 7) is a pass that opens MCAST Foundation and ITS, not sixth form. The guide has the detail.
Which Paper II should my child register for?
If sixth form is possible, the Level 2-3 paper. The Level 1-2 paper caps the result at grade 6, which is a Level 2 at best. Does it replace private lessons?
No. It explains, tests, marks and reports, which is more than most private lessons do, but nobody is sitting next to your child. Many families will use it alongside a tutor; some will use it instead. Try the free stop and decide.
